And Additional Information About The New Hacker Eliminator

Old LockDown Codes:
There will need to be a
change in the code system for Lockdown Millennium.
This change will affect all LockDown users. The changes will require that all LockDown users be added to a LockDown members database. Once added to this database you will be able to generate your new activation code. You will also have access to the members area for new LockDown Corp. news and access other member only services.

Your member access will include easy retrieval of lost codes and special discount prices on new and upcoming services and programs. This change is scheduled for next week. You should receive an e-mail from us which will include a link that will allow you to create a user name and password. The user name and password will enable you to access the new LockDown members area for the term of your license.

Licenses Not Honored:
It has been brought to our attention that a former sales manager for LockDown Corp., has gone out of his way to sell bogus LockDown licenses. LockDown Corp. will not honor these licenses. If you feel that you may be using an illegal copy of LockDown, open your LockDown software to the "About" section.

Valid licenses will display http://www.lockdowncorp.com
. If the logo shows any other web address, it is a bogus license and was not sold to by authority of LockDown Corp.

If you own one of these bogus licenses, please feel free to contact us for further information.
Most of the clients that I have talked to were able to get their money back from their credit card company.
These bogus copies of LockDown do not update and the code system does not work properly.

Corporation Changes:
LockDown Corp. is going through many changes. These changes are only being made to serve you better.
A change in general management has already taken place and future plans of splitting LockDown Corp. into sister companies is underway. A new program development team has been hired and there are many plans new programs and services soon to be released.

Hacker Eliminator Vs. LockDown:
LockDown has had the same code base for almost five years. Adding to the mass of code that already existed became a tedious task. It was ready for a complete rewrite for a long time. LockDown Millennium still serves it's purposes, but it became a hard task to add all of the thoughts and ideas for new utilities and new program options.

Hacker Eliminator will be the continued work in progress. The starting point was to create a new program from scratch that did not contain some of the old rarely used options in LockDown, while adding new options that the end user would both use and benefit from. Everything that is important to your protection has already been added to Hacker Eliminator, along with some new options such as:

1. CRC Checking
The new CRC checking will allow you to validate files that are in your startup folder.
Some hackers will use existing startup files as their Trojan startup method. This is done by "Binding" the Trojan to an existing startup program. While it is true that LockDown and Hacker Eliminator can both detect the Trojan after it starts, the task is still left up to you to find out how the Trojan keeps starting itself after each reboot.

If the Trojan was "bound" (attached) to Systray.exe and you were not aware of this, each time you restart your computer systray.exe will run which will load the Trojan. You can look at the LockDown Millennium and Hacker Eliminator startup window all day and just scratch your head. As you look at the list of startup programs, they all seem to be valid system files. Since the hacker bound the Trojan to a system startup file, the Trojan loads with each reboot.

When using Hacker Eliminator, you can click on a button called "Add Startup Programs" in the CRC menu. When you click on the button, all of your startup programs will be added to your CRC list. When you click on the "Save CRC Values" button all of the file statistics will be saved. If you ever experience any problems, simply click on the "Check CRC Values" button. If any of the files have been tampered with Hacker Eliminator will alert you. This new detection method will always catch Trojan bindings.

2. CRC Checking (Hooking Of Modules)
Hackers have now become aware of new startup methods. One of the most common is to register their Trojan file and then hook into Exploror.exe through a registry key. When this is done and explorer loads, it will load the Trojan module. All programs load and use modules. This means that an attack can be launched by replacing an existing program module. This type of attack can also get by some software firewalls. This is because you trust the program to your firewall. When the trusted program loads, it loads the Trojan module which is now being run by a trusted program.
Good examples of programs that can use this method would be programs that load DLL files for Internet ads. The module or program is already trusted, and is connecting to web pages on port 80 all day without an alert. The module is replaced by a Trojan DLL and is started without any warning next time the program is launched or the computer is rebooted.

Hacker Eliminator has added the registry key for the explorer hook and a button "Add Modules" to the CRC menu.
When the button is clicked, Hacker Eliminator will add ALL of the modules that are loaded on your computer at the time you click the button. Any time after this you can check the values to see if any of your modules have been altered or changed in any way.

3. String Scanner
A string scanner has been added to Hacker Eliminator which will allow the user to pull text out of program files.
This is a great option for the user that is constantly going through temp and other files, wondering where they came from or what they do. The string scanner will allow you to browse for program files and view the TEXT content of the file. Many times hackers will add notes into their program files. Examples of this would be words like "My Trojan Name", Get Lost Looser" or some foul language. When you pull this kind of text from inside a program, you can bet that the file is anything but legitimate

Other things that you can expect to find would be e-mail and web addresses, chat rooms and servers, IP addresses and other information that the hacker has entered so that his Trojan can talk back to him in some way. Other times the scanner will help you identify that the file is legitimate, by finding it to be a normal temp file from a program that you are using. An example of this would be going through a file and finding text that you recognize from being from a program that you use regularly.

4. Process Detection
LockDown Millennium included the detection of Internet servers. This would help you to be aware of new programs that started on your computer that were using the Internet for the first time.
After the Internet program was added to the trusted server list, LockDown would no longer give a warning about the file. This type of Internet detection is great for Trojans using the Internet, but if the program was not an Internet server it would run without a warning. An example of something that may go undetected in this case would be a key logging program that does not have Internet options. Hacker Eliminator includes a complete process monitor option. The process monitor works like the Internet server monitor, only it detects ANY new program or process running.

This means that a program can't be run secretly on your computer without your knowledge.

With this option enabled you will be clicking on the trust option allot for the first couple days, but well worth it after all of your known programs are added to the trusted process list.

5. On Demand Signatures
While LockDown has monthly signature updates, Hacker Eliminator checks for signatures as they are added to our database. This means that if we have added signatures today waiting for an the update release, you would get what has been added now while LockDown would wait for the complete list to be compiled.

6. Popup Messenger Spam Blocker
The new Messenger Spam only works on XP, 2K and NT operating systems. Hacker Eliminator will allow you to turn off the Messenger service with the simple click of a button on these systems.

7. Speed And Resources
The new code has been optimized for speed and accuracy. What would take LockDown two hours to scan only takes Hacker Eliminator minutes. Also because of this optimization, the new Hacker Eliminator uses almost NO resources and very little memory.

8. Easy To Use Menu And Control
A clean easy to use menu system has been designed for ease of use. You can also easily toggle on or off detection modes from the main program window.

We invite you to download Hacker Eliminator and try it out.

Hacker Eliminator is a new work in progress. We will be adding more options and utilities on a regular basis.
If there are options that you would like to see added to the program, or have any comments please send us an e-mail.
